Editorial Policy

At Setit Media, our mission is to deliver factual, balanced, and insightful reporting with a strong focus on Eritrean interests first. As an independent media platform, we are committed to upholding the highest journalistic standards, ensuring transparency, and maintaining our editorial integrity. The following principles guide our work and define our relationship with contributors, readers, and partners.

1. Eritrea First – Our Core Principle
Setit Media operates with Eritrea’s national interests at the forefront. We believe in highlighting Eritrean voices, perspectives, and realities without external influence. Our editorial direction prioritizes Eritrea’s sovereignty, development, and cultural identity, ensuring that our reporting reflects the aspirations and challenges of the Eritrean people.

2. Editorial Independence
Setit Media is not affiliated with any political party, government entity, or foreign interest group. Our coverage is shaped by facts, accuracy, and ethical journalism, free from political manipulation or external pressures. Our commitment is to the truth, and we report on issues that matter to Eritreans at home and abroad.

3. Opinion and Analysis
We encourage informed debates and diverse perspectives through our Opinion section. However, opinions expressed by contributors do not necessarily reflect the views of Setit Media. We reserve the right to edit, decline, or remove opinion pieces that violate our ethical standards, promote false narratives, or work against Eritrea’s national interests.

4. Guest Contributions and Sponsored Content
Setit Media welcomes guest contributions but maintains strict editorial oversight.

Sponsored content will be clearly labeled and will not influence our editorial decisions.
All guest pieces must adhere to our commitment to Eritrean integrity and journalistic ethics.
We do not publish content that seeks to manipulate public opinion against Eritrea’s interests.
5. Ethical Standards and Content Guidelines
We hold all published content to the highest ethical and professional standards. We will not accept or publish material that:
✅ Undermines Eritrea’s sovereignty or national unity.
✅ Promotes foreign political agendas or interests at Eritrea’s expense.
✅ Spreads misinformation, unverified claims, or propaganda.

6. Accuracy and Fact-Checking
All reports undergo thorough fact-checking before publication. If an error is identified, we promptly correct it with full transparency. Misinformation and speculative reporting have no place in Setit Media.

7. Source Transparency
We rely on credible and verifiable sources to maintain trust with our audience. While we prioritize named sources, anonymous sources may be used when necessary, provided the information is thoroughly verified and in the public interest.

8. Editorial Independence from Advertisers and Funding Sources
Setit Media does not allow financial backers, advertisers, or sponsors to dictate our editorial content. Our reporting remains independent, and financial support does not grant influence over what we publish.

9. Reader Engagement and Comment Policy
We encourage respectful discussions on our platform. However, we will remove comments that:
❌ Contain hate speech or ethnic, religious, or social discrimination.
❌ Include false information or conspiracy theories.
❌ Are abusive, vulgar, or disrespectful toward Eritrea or fellow readers.

Setit Media reserves the right to disable comments on certain articles when necessary to maintain a constructive and patriotic discussion environment.

10. Conflict of Interest Disclosure
All contributors, editors, and reporters are required to disclose any personal or financial conflicts of interest that could influence their reporting. Any potential conflict will be transparently stated to our readers.

11. Right to Decline or Remove Content
